The Alaska Sports Broadcasting Network was started in August 1996. Dimond High School Coach Brad Lauwers was concerned why none of the Anchorage high school teams had any radio coverage. He approached long time radio announcers Kelly Thompson and Dick Lobdell. Then, with the help of KASH Radio’s General Manager Andy Lohman, The Alaska Sports Broadcasting Network broadcasted its first football game on August 23rd, 1996 and it was on its way...

Today ASBN broadcasts over 175 sporting events a year, from University of Alaska Anchorage Men and Women’s college basketball, to at least 50 Anchorage area high school basketball and football games. ASBN can be heard over 21 different radio stations across Alaska with over 50 different broadcasts of their local high school teams.

The Alaska Sports Broadcasting Network marketing department sells advertising space in all its area broadcasts. Please see the Contact page for further information.
